- Help other businesses be more competitive
- Make it easy for users to change
- Open is better than closed
- Competition is just one click away
- Advertisers pay what a click is worth to them
- Advertisers have many choices in a dynamic market
Yes, what are you seeing above are the 6 most talked about principles today. The Don't be evil company has finally made it all public. To make it more clear, I am talking about the one and only Google. Seems that antitrust concerns have finally made this company to rethink on its strategies and be more open about its business policies and practices. These 6 principles as said by Google presently are the basis of its present policy to promote competition and openness on web. Now this looks really good to me. Just to let you know, I am great admirer of Google and its services and after going through their principles, this admiration increases..
Now looking at their principles one by one - help other businesses to be more competitive - is very important because until and unless there is free and fair competition, customer satisfaction cannot be guaranteed which I am sure is what Google doesn't want. Make it easy for users to change - Yes, easiness to change for users is another important factor which affects any company which is looking to build a strong customer base for future. Open is better than Closed - Very important line. I fully support this statement. Openness, in my opinion breeds more healthy competition and increases trust. Competition is just one click away - Ofcourse, one click and everything changes. So, its important that you understand your market well and plan everything according to that. The better you plan, the better you have the chance to put yourself up to the top in a highly competitive market. Advertisers pay what a click is worth to them - This is very interesting yet very important point. If I am not wrong, its tells about Google's advertising policies for future. Looks much more customized and flexible in my opinion. I hope advertisers gonna like it for sure. Advertisers have many choices in a dynamic market - If you don't have it then no problem..I will look for another. In a dynamic market like today, advertisers have a whole lot of options. So, its not only Google. Infact, it can be Yahoo, it can be Microsoft, or any other online advertising company. And so...
So, we have just seen all six, must say really good principles on which Google has laid its foundation. Hope Google will live upto it principles and will continue to deliver its best products and services for its billions of users worldwide :) I would once again like to put my own definition of Google here -
G - Great
O - Outstanding
O - Original
G - Global
L - Leader
E - Example

I'm good. Glad you like it my blog. I hope it offers some resources that you can utilize.
I like your blog as well. Being that Google is all powerful, I do hope that Wolf/Fram will give them a run for their money. It's time that someone gave them some serious competition and changed the way search engines respond to users.

Hi Jim, You are welcome. Your blog is simply wonderful. no doubt..
Well, Google is the buzz word today and I don't think it will be easy for somebody like Wolf/Fram to give them a close fight. But still it will be interesting to see what actually happens in the end;)

Aswani-
I think you're right, but at least if Wolf|Fram does manage to pull it off
they will have awakened Google to the demand and need for a semantic search
engine.

Great definition of Google. I'm a Google fan too, and I share your same thoughts on hoping they do deliver on their promises and commitments in the future. This point is particularly interesting: "Advertisers pay what a click is worth to them"... My recent post makes this closer to reality:)
Serious competition? Against whom? What is Wolf/Fram?
