Google Page Rank Lost

Posted by ASWANI
I was hopeful of the fact that it won't happen to my blog at least. I was wishing the same even after getting the new domain name. But it was never to be. Just today in the morning, when I visited my blog, I was left shocked to see something which I didn't expect at all. My Google page rank which was 3 to be honest, dropped to nothing :( Yes, I lost my Google page rank. At first, I could not understand the reason for this drop. But later, I realized that it had to happen one day. Reason - Very simple. In order to gain a good Google page rank, you must do link building with quality sites and blogs, which I did. But to my bad luck, I exchanged links when I had a free Google blogger domain name - http://cyberholic2007.blogspot.com To be honest, I had no Google PR for the first 6 months when I created this blog but I was rewarded with Google Page rank 3 soon after those 6 months. It was really an exciting moment for me.
But now, this happiness has vanished. Whatever you may think, Google page rank is important or not, but I think it is an important criteria for anyone who has been working for so long on his/her blog . It just hurts to see that a mere change in the domain name can cause such huge impact. hmm...The best way to gain my lost PR is to tell whosoever had exchanged links with my blog to change my blog url on their blogs. Yes, instead of my old domain name they should replace it with my new domain name. But I don't think it would be an easy task for me. So, I am better leaving it for the moment and will concentrate on it later. Hope it does not become an important factor for you to not to visit this blog. Please keep visiting and commenting :)

If you haven't done so, I suggest that you go to Google apps.and register for an account. After doing that go to your Advanced DNS settings, which you will have to sign in to, and reconfigure your previous domain name to point to the domain you have now. Any page ranking from the original may be picked up by your new one.
I have not idea if that will work, but if people are looking for you under your old address and it's not forwarding to the one you have now, it's possible that you're having the same problem with Google.
Also, if haven't done this, on your blog, go to settings>publishing>Advanced settings and make sure your original domain is redirecting to your new one.
I'm just guessing here. I had a big problem, albeit not the same as yours, when I purchased custom domain. Anyway, give it a shot. Maybe that will help.

Update your link buddy. Sorry about your PR. I guess that is because you now have your own domain. You'll catch up, I'm sure.

Thank Reetha for dropping by. Yes, I am 100% confident that I will gain my lost PR. Actually, I did this mistake, I updated my domain name at a time when google was updating PR of many sites. And to my bad luck, I had to lose my PR in the process. Not a problem though..will get it back very soon :)

I m sure you will win the lost PR soon, just be patient.
i was in a similar situation today, after 9 months of hard work i managed a PR3 for my site in the 1st of July, just to find out today that it dropped to 2.
I did not panic and started thinking what i did wrong and i think i know the reason.
just in the end of June i had added 40 more pages but i did the internal linking in the wrong way, i linked to all internal pages from my home page, even to the not important ones, so after a few days those unimportant pages received a PR1, obviously removing it from the home page.
i wish you good and quick recovery because i know how you feel...

That is a great lesson to be learned for. My site has never experience a loss though its still a good thing to think ahead than be sorry later. I'd be sure to take a note on this one. Do your best for the recovery. philippines outsourcing
