Bad Dreams - The Horrible Night
Thursday, November 12, 2009
Posted by ASWANI
This is Thursday, 6.00am early in the morning. And I am here to share one of the most horrible experiences of my life. Frankly speaking, last night has been terrible for me. I want to forget it as soon as possible. Well, nothing happened to me as such. But then I did witness something which still sends chills to my spine.I am living here with one of my friends. We have been living here together for the past 6 months and in all these months not even a single issue has arose between both of us apart from some rare misunderstandings. Yes, we live like brothers, to be honest.
Now, last night as usual we finished our dinners and went to our beds late in the night. Since, he has to leave early in the morning for office so he slept early while I usually sleep late in the night around 12. Now, Exorcist - Have you people watched this movie? I am sure that most of you might have watched this movie at least once in your life. Being regarded as the No. 1 horror movie, its in my list of all time favorite movies. Now, why am I speaking about Exorcist ? Just because, last night I must say that I almost had an experience of live exorcism though not as horrific as the real movie. In the middle of the night around 2am, I heard some noises in my room. Just to confirm, I decided to check where it was coming from. Now, to my horror - He was my friend himself who got awoke from his sleep and OMG - what was he doing there? To my utter horror, he was yelling like anything for apparently no reasons. Believe me, it was such a terrible scene. I went closer to him to comfort him but then it seemed all to be in vain. He got afraid of me and began yelling as if he saw some ghost in me. I just wanted to make him feel better but it never appeared to be same. Infact, he began crying also. All these in the midnight, never been through such experience till date. The yell was such a terrible one, never seen before someone doing like that !
The yell came to end finally after sometime. I could relax now. I went to him and asked him for this unusual drama. What he told, left me with fears. The reason he did so because he had a bad dream in the night. In his dream he saw someone arising from the floor of the room and so he woke up and when he saw me, he felt as if I was the person who arose from the floor. And so he began yelling like anything..huh ! How could he think such rubbish but then it was all dream - the worst dream I must say.
Now after comforting him and making him feel better, we decided to sleep again. But then OMG - same thing happened again. Yes, just before we were getting ready for the new day, I found the same thing happening again. This was much more horrible than before - cannot be expressed in words! The pitch of the yell was highest this time which could easily sent chills to one's spine. Yet again the same case - A bad dream, rather a continuation of the last dream. What the hell he was doing? Not sleeping himself and not even letting me to sleep :(
Have been through many terrible experiences but these two experience have been the most horrible in recent times. Bad dreams - Heaven forbid! Why do people get such dreams? Is there any reality associated with such dreams? Why people going through such dreams begin to behave in this way? How to keep away from such dreams? How to dream only about the things which interests me - In other words, how to dream good ?
Yes, please have your say...

This happens often in my hostel during my graduation. Guys used to shout like anything, make noises and at last everything will end up in humor.

Our subconscious mind plays a strong part in our dreams. It could be stress related and whole series of meanings. I strongly believe that if he believes it is a haunting or a warning, then perhaps he should ask...in his dream, what is its purpose? In dreams, you have the power. Have you ever seen "A Nightmare on Elm Street"? I recommend him not watching too much tv and actually reading something or having NIGHTLY motivational verses before he goes to sleep. Trust me. I watched Paranormal Activity recently and he could be harmful to you and himself. Anythings possible :-D

Dear, it was no fun at all. It was extremely horrible. You could have watched it and felt yourself. I bet you would have run away to some other place:-P

Hey Dee, You are spot on two things - too much stress can lead to such dreams and one should keep away from watching TV especially horror movies. It can affect your brain very badly.
Just two days back we had watched a movie. It was full of bloody incidents. May be because of that he had a bad dream, the last night. Yes, anything is possible *DONT_KNOW*

Your experience reminded me so much of Paranormal Activity. Ever since looking at the moving, I started taking things like that seriously. Don't want anyone standing over the bed with a knife while I'm sleep :)

Hahahaha..good one. Yes, it reminds me about the movie named - I know what you did last summer;)

Hi Bro, having nightmares? when I'm having nightmares I usually do some jogging or walking around before going to bed then I drink a glass of water too just to relax me a little bit.
I guess that's the effect of watching to many horror movies, bro! Lols!
One more tip, before going to bed to relax your mind... try opening your friends post and do a little commenting your friend's blog. The benefit will be mutual, heheheh :P.
You take care man!

Dreams do happen but this is what some called the sub conscious thought the best thing to do is wake yourself up and try to relax so i guess when your friend wake up and saw you he may still be in that unconscious state next time just shout at him and he will reconize you better dreams next time

Dreams always mean something. It's our subconscious mind that is in control while sleeping and that causes these dreams. A good part of psycho-analysis is based on dreams. In case anyone is interested to know more can refer to the book "Interpretation of Dreams' by Sigmund Freud.
Like lawmacs has suggested - having a relaxed life can help in this particular situation. Ur friend is somehow very tensed and anxious due to something. Talk to him wen he is awake and try to resolve the real problem to solve this problems in dreams.
All the best,
Angshu

Aswani, this dream according to my understanding must be having a very strong reason behind its occurrence. You friend probably should see some counselor to get it analysed ? Behavior does not occur in Vacuum !! Though such experiences are frequently taken for granted or forgotten !!
I hope it doesn't happen again so that you do not have to go through a experience which you view as horrible :)

Thanks buddy for your thoughtful comment. Ok, I will tell him to meet a counselor if and only if it happens again. I hope not=-O

Wow. Sounds like a nightmare to me rather than anything else. I hope both you and your friend finally did get some sleep that night and that all that was nothing but a bad dream.
Something like this did happen only once, when I was dreaming about a gelatine man who was all over me. My ex-wife did not like that dream, trust me. I was living it so vividly that I threw her off the bed... Obviously I was punished for this, but not for long... Hope all is well with you guys

Yes bro..a total nightmare for both of us=-O bty, hahaha..you threw your wife off the bed...seems that you too were gripped with something*DONT_KNOW*
