Well, nothing can be more disastrous than an earthquake. Seems that mother earth is boiling over these days. It happened again and the worst one could imagine. On Jan12, 2010, an earthquake measuring 7.0 magnitude rocked Haiti, one of the world's most poorest nations. The impact was devastating. Don't know the exact figures but yes, as per till now, 100,000 deaths is confirmed. This is believed to be one of the worst natural disasters of this decade leaving lakhs dead and thousands homeless. Tuesday's earthquake has reduced large parts of the the country's capitol, Port Au Prince, to rubble and devastated their already poor infrastructure making the task of delivering aid extremely difficult.

Well, no one can be held responsible for it. This had to happen and what is more horrific, is that such earthquakes are bound to occur again and again. It seems that mother earth is not ready to listen any more. The 2004 Tsunami started it all and it hasn't stopped yet. I was just browsing through some articles to get an update on Haiti earthquake. And I must say I was shocked like anything after looking at some of the pics of this terrible disaster. Corpses of dead, people running hopelessly, babies crying and many scenes of horror were all caught in those pics. And to add to it, Scientists have warned of more severe earthquakes in Haiti in near future. Don't know how people are going to take it all. Anyways friends, the heart goes out to the deceased and also to those who are still suffering like anything.

Its high time that we too get involved with them in these hours of tragedy. We too can make contributions like most of the others are doing. The most important thing you can do is donate to organizations providing aid to the citizens of Haiti. Governments, organizations and nonprofits around the world are mobilizing to provide relief. If you would like to help, the American Red Cross is encouraging donations to its International Response Fund, which provides immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support. Also, Doctors Without Borders is in Haiti and is seeking volunteers and donations. More information on such relief works can be found here - Haiti Earthquake Disaster Relief

Hope you too will do something just like what I have thought of doing from my side. Leaving you with some videos related to this terrible disaster -
