Well..getting offtopic...this is an interesting piece of an email which I received today from one of my good friends. I don't know why he he sent this one to me but still, I enjoyed reading it as it looked very interesting to me. It speaks about typical Indian mothers..nothing bad though yet quite true. Hope you too will like reading this one..
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Mom comes to visit her son Kumar for dinner…..who lives with a girl roommate Sunita. During the course of the meal, his mother couldn’t help but notice how pretty Kumar’s roommate was. She had long been suspicious of a relationship between the two, and this had only made her more curious.
Over the course of the evening, while watching the two interact, she started to wonder if there was more between Kumar and his roommate than met the eye. Reading his mom’s thoughts, Kumar volunteered, ‘I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you, Sunita and I are just roommates.’ About a week later, Sunita came to Kumar saying, ‘Ever since your mother came to dinner, I’ve been unable to find the silver plate. You don’t suppose she took it, do you?’ Kumar said ,’Well, I doubt it, but I’ll email her, just to be sure.’
So he sat down and wrote :
Dear Mother, I’m not saying that you ‘did’ take the silver plate from my house, I’m not saying that you ‘did not’ take the silver plate.. But the fact remains that it has been missing ever since you were here for dinner.
Love, Kumar
Several days later, Kumar received an email from his Mother which read :
Dear Son,
I’m not saying that you ‘do’ sleep with Sunita, and I’m not saying that you ‘do not’ sleep with Sunita. But the fact remains that if she was sleeping in her OWN bed, she would have found the silver plate by now under the pillow…
Love Mom.
Lesson Learnt - Do not Lie to Your Mother………..especially if she is Indian ;)

Thats really cool man, I got to be careful of my mother from now on, but I do tell her everything. But one more thing, if this mother had been a typical Indian women, she wouldn't have taken this so lightly and moreover she wouldn't have left her son stay with another girl of his age. =-X

What an enterprising mother. Enjoyed this story...Are you sure this is not culled from your personal experience? Own up or I'd make sure your mother visit you again one of these days. :-D

hehe...thanks bro. Glad to see you here after so long. Really missed you here. Hmm...to be very honest, I cannot escape from my Mom..wherever I am. She has her eyes on me always and does make me feel insecure at times..hehe :-D

Moral of the story, Use the steel plate for dinner. So, if you lose it, you don't have to worry about it....lol
June 13, 2010 9:40 PM
hehe...Yes, this is very unlikely of Indian mothers. Infact, this doesn't fit well with the typical middle class families. To let your mother know about your girl room-mate...hmm...quite impossible for me though I don't have any with me at present :-P

Good one bro, as usual. But, I believe Indian mothers never allow their children (son/daug..) to stay in a single room. Good one though!!
;)

I admired your post Never lie to an Indian Mother greatly. Thank you for so convincing picture of the love's wisdom. It made my blog http://butterflyintheplaster.blogspot.com/ your hot fan. We both enjoy the text in between the lines alike.

Never lie to ANY mother, not just Indian mother.
What kind of a son who's capable to write that kind of email to his mother. It's unthinkable & downright ungrateful! Re-read the mother's reply, it's spalshed with tears of hurt......
June 14, 2010 11:07 PM
hmm...bro :)

Guys, this is an old joke - it didn't originate with Indian mothers. But the principle still applies - just "never lie to a mother" would've been as good, don't you think? Why drag nationality into it? ALL mothers are, well, mothers - and most of us can stay a step ahead of our offspring. ;)
