I am fascinated by this Android thing. And so, I am here with some vital statistics on the same. The infographic below has been derived from
IDC for 2011.
Looking at the infographic below, I get this feeling that Android is getting ahead of Apple's iPhone though Apple still leads the smartphone market. While Apple tightly controls iPhone hardware and software, Google makes the Android mobile device operating
system available free to smartphone manufacturers, one of the major reasons why Android seems to be leading the smartphone market. Company's wide carrier support along with large app selection has certainly appealed to those customers who have chosen to go with Android devices..!

I'm pretty sure in near future Samsung will dominate the market with greater market share.
Yeah! sometimes ago iPhone was THE thing with its iOS and awesome touch responsiveness. But today it has become A thing cos most of the phones are having same or greater stuff.
I have tried few Samsung Android devices, both smartphones and Tabs. They are just awesome and hardware configuration is unbeatable.

I am on the side of Samsung and android even though I feel Samsung still needs to do better on software side. Their kies is poorly supported and does not work very well. Hardware wise they are going to get ahead of apple very soon. Domination of one player is anyway not good for market. More choices means more innovation.
