Web 2.0 means different things to different people. However there is one thing common to everyone – change. Technology has changed the way we conduct meetings and seminars. There was a time when people had to travel thousands of miles for a seminar. With webinars, travel has become redundant. It’s the same with meetings.

The power of webinar lies in interactivity. Not only can the person hosting webinar talk virtually to the audience, but he can interact with them in real time. Dashboards are no longer passive but a dynamic, ever changing and active medium. Modern day webinars like GoToWebinar can accommodate thousands of participants at a time. Moreover people from all over the world can participate without any geographical boundaries. There was a time when such events required special equipment which was also costly. Microsoft has provided a great platform for net meetings and has extensive features. There are many other providers in the scene that might be able to tailor requirements in a better fashion. Ultimately the choice of platform depends on individual requirements. For some occasions Windows Live may be more appropriate while for others you may go to others.
