However, no one could have imagined that impeachment of President would have been organized by social media sites. Everyone was surprised after January 17, 2001 when during the impeachment trial of Philippine President Joseph Estrada a million people could organized a huge demonstration in a major crossroad in Manila. The purpose was to force the Philippine Congress to present the evidence against the president, because two hours before the court decision Congress voted to set aside decisive evidence against the president. In two hours through the social media sites Philippine People managed to organize over a million people demonstration against the Congress vote. The demonstration triggered the reverse step by Congress and the legislators presented the key evidence. This fact was estimated by the President Joseph Estrada as the downfall caused by “the text-messaging generation”. Science this fact the power of social media increased substantially. This can be asserted as a landmark case which led to organizing some other little demonstrations against political decisions, political systems of politicians.
