Online and Offline Sources to Prepare for AP EAMCET 2018

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada conducts Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) on behalf of AP State Council of Higher Education every year for admission to various undergraduate professional courses offered by various Universities/Private colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

The exam dates have been announced and the notification is expected to be released by the 4th week of January 2018. The online submission of form will start from 1st week of February, while the examinations will be conducted in last week of April 2018.

As dates are notified, aspirants are struggling hard to finish the syllabus of all subjects of AP EAMCET on time in order to prepare well for the exam. Various online and offline sources can make the preparation easy. The exam pattern for engineering as well as agriculture/medical entrance examinations differ from each other.

How to Prepare for AP EAMCET

To be successful you need to ensure an effective time management. In any exam, notes are to be prepared wisely so that revision can be done easily and effectively. Formulae, short tricks, and crucial concepts should be in notes.

It is wise to go through all the previous year question papers of AP EAMCET. Also, accumulate all the information relevant to your syllabus i.e. study material. Don’t waste time in covering the topics which are out of syllabus.

It is essential to focus on practicing with mock tests to increase accuracy and speed for the examination on time.

For engineering/medical exam, aspirants can go through the previous year questions of various national and state level exams. Important topics are mandatory to revise before the exam. At least 5 to 7 days should be given to revising the subjects.

Candidates should solve the section and questions as per their priority. If a question/section seems easy, it must be attempted first.

NCERT Books: The aspirants should begin their preparations for any national entrance examination with NCERT books as these are framed based on the CBSE curriculum which gives conceptual clarity.

Moreover, thoroughly going through the NCERT books will eventually help in both, board exams and AP EAMCET. Also, work on the topic tests given at the end of each chapter to ensure thorough preparation.

Guide books: Guide book will sort out most of the problems you face during preparation. These books will provide an exam based approach to each topic so that you can know the different ways in which the questions can be framed from a single concept. List of such books are as follow-

Previous Year Question Papers: Candidates are suggested to study a collection of past question papers to understand exam pattern and syllabus. Some reference books are helpful in this context such as as Andhra Pradesh EAMCET Medical: 16 years Solved Paper- Arihant, Solutions to EAMCET& AIEEE by V. Venkateswara Rao and S. Chand publication.

Coaching Notes- A reputed coaching institute will give you a clear idea of what to study and what to leave. Moreover, they provide separate study material with every concept explained clearly for better understanding.

They teach you tricks and shortcuts that will help you solve the toughest problems. The coaching is available both in regular and online modes. Popular among them includes FIITJEE, Aakash classes, Sri Chaitanya Eamcet Coaching Center and Allen.

Sample Papers- The sample papers are nothing but framed according to the pattern and syllabus of the exam. They are not the actual question papers but provide an idea of how the questions will be. Most of them are available as solved papers and hence, it will be easier to know your mistakes and correct the same. They are available for download in almost all educational websites.

Mock Tests: All candidates who are preparing for the entrance examination can attempt for mock test. The admission authorities of JNTU, Kakinada provides free mock tests for all interested candidates which is accessible to everyone and does not require any credentials. The total duration of mock test is 3 hours and a total of 160 questions will be asked. To keep time in check, a countdown timer will also start as soon as the mock test begins. Various sites such as www.etutor.com is available for online practice tests.

YouTube Channels: Various YouTube tutorials also facilitate the same. One can refer the videos from different channels which cover various topics. The best way out for the strugglers who wish to finish their courses till the date of examination is to solve 20 years question papers from the books and giving the mock test on the regular basis with loyalty.
